Audi Launched Car Assembly

FOCUS-GLOBAL.CO.CC-German luxury car maker Audi AG said Monday it started to assemble cars in Indonesia together with INDOMOBIL/Garuda Mataram Motor as part of a broader expansion plan in Southeast Asia.

“We'd like to contribute to (market) growth (in Indonesia), since growth is an important component of Audi's brand strategy,“ Audi executive board member Frank Dreves said in a statement.

Audi is the premium brand of Volkswagen AG, Europe's largest automaker by sales volume. Audi and INDOMOBIL/Garuda Mataram Motor will assemble Audi A4 1.8 TFSI and A6 2.0 TFSI cars in the capital city Jakarta. Around 2,700 cars will be assembled there by 2015, including 2,000 Audi A4 models, for the Indonesian market.
